About
I believe that meaningful therapeutic work begins with having a safe and confidential space in which you can feel heard, understood and able to explore your experiences without judgement. As an adult psychotherapist, my primary therapeutic approach is psychodynamic therapy, and I also work with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), particularly when working with trauma and distressing life experiences.
My psychodynamic work focuses on developing a deeper understanding of the emotional experiences, attachment patterns and relationships that may shape how difficulties are experienced in the present. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore both past and present experiences, develop greater self-awareness and understand patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties.
Alongside my psychodynamic practice, I provide EMDR therapy where clinically appropriate, with a particular focus on trauma and distressing experiences. I tailor the therapeutic approach to each client, taking into consideration their individual circumstances, needs and therapeutic goals.
I hold a BSc in Psychology with First-Class Honours from Bahçeşehir University and an MSc in Foundations of Clinical Psychology (Merit) from Bournemouth University. I am currently undertaking an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy at London Metropolitan University and working towards BACP accreditation. I am also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
In addition to my core clinical training, I have undertaken professional development in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Experiential Play Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels I & II), and psychological assessment, including the MMPI. These additional areas of training have broadened my clinical knowledge and understanding of different therapeutic approaches.
I work with adults experiencing a range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression and low mood, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties and challenges with emotional regulation. I offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels appropriate for them and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.
